Letter from Father Michael P. Noreika, SSS

Joy to the world!  The Lord is come! Christmas is a time for singing and giving thanks because we were given the greatest gift of all, Our Savior Jesus Christ!

It is the time of year when we celebrate this truth. We get together with family and friends and demonstrate our love for each other through gifts because we remember God’s loving example.

When the three wise men followed the star to Bethlehem, they knew that the birth of Jesus was a special event in the lives of all people in the world. The star was shining above Him, and a different kind of light shone within Him too. Every prayer, every kind act we do in Jesus’ name brings more of His light into the world.

It’s no wonder we sing praises in Jesus’ name and celebrate His birthday every year!

Can you imagine the joy Saint Ann had when she held her grandson Jesus in her arms? The joy she felt is still with us today, and she shares that joy with us when she intercedes with Him on our behalf.

I ask you to join us in placing your difficulties, health problems, and concerns for your family, our nation, and the world into the gracious hands of Saint Ann. As she held her newborn grandson close to her heart, so she holds us in her arms and heart when she presents our cares to Jesus.

Join us in our prayers this Christmas season. Please write the names of your loved ones on our prayer request page or send your prayer intentions to us at Saint Ann’s Shrine.

I humbly ask you to express your faith and love this Christmas with a Christmas gift to Saint Ann’s Shrine. Your gift supports the good works of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. Our ministry relies on your support! Your gift, given with a joyous heart, truly enables so many to understand that Jesus is a gift to us all.

We value your partnership throughout the year, but especially at Christmas when we are all reminded to spread Christ’s light throughout the world! You empower us by being our partner, sharing the love we experience in the Eucharist, sustaining missionaries, and spreading the powerful love of Good Saint Ann.

Each of us holds the spark of God’s light within us. When we join our prayers together, our light becomes stronger. We become a beacon to the world, just like the star the wise men followed to baby Jesus. You give us strength and power to share Jesus’ light with the world. We can all bring light into the darkness, not just during the holidays, but every day!

Ever since the first Christmas, this holiday is a time for family and travel. Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem and the wise men followed the star to honor the birth of Jesus. Perhaps you or your loved ones will travel this year too. We pray your travels will be safe and joyful.

The Blessed Sacrament Fathers and Brothers and the staff of Saint Ann’s Shrine wish you and your loved ones a wonderfully festive and holy Christmas. May you experience health, peace, and happiness in the New Year!

Yours in Good Saint Ann,
Rev. Michael P. Noreika, SSS
Spiritual Director

P.S. Please send us the names of your friends and relatives so they can be included in our special Novena of Masses at Saint Ann’s Shrine during the Christmas season

P.P.S. Share your joy of Jesus’ birth through your prayers and actions this holiday season!
