Dear Friends of Saint Ann Shrine,
Easter is a delightful opportunity to celebrate with loved ones as the early stages of Spring begin to take place. Spring signifies a rebirth to bright and sunny days, flowers blooming in the garden, grass growing greener. Jesus’ resurrection invokes a rebirth in our spiritual “garden” as well. We continue to receive new life through Jesus’ resurrection every day of our lives.
Jesus died on the cross so our sins can be forgiven and so we can rise from our sins through His resurrection. Easter is also a time to celebrate and appreciate the genuine sacrifice Jesus made for us. Jesus came to us as a human being so that he experienced, and understands, the challenges we face every day of our lives. Our faith is based on hope. Hope in the resurrection.
Easter is the most heartfelt and genuine illustration of self-sacrifice. We use the Lenten season to make sacrifices and prepare to show Jesus just how grateful we are for his personal sacrifice and for all the blessings we’ve been given in our lives. The discipline we show during these 40 days shouldn’t stop there. We can use this time as a springboard to improving our lives and becoming a better version of ourselves!
It’s nearly impossible to embrace our struggles in life the way Jesus embraced his forthcoming Passion. May we be encouraged to let go of that which binds us to sin and accept the challenge of becoming better versions of ourselves. God’s mercy is new every morning and Jesus’ love is unconditional. May we use this time of year to enact a resurrection of our own spiritual lives.
Furthermore, we are inspired by the dignity in which the Blessed Virgin Mary handled her Son’s Passion and Resurrection. Might we be energized to handle our daily lives with the dignity and class modeled by Mary who undoubtedly learned these traits from her mother, Good Saint Ann, who is a guardian angel and patron saint to us all. We come to Saint Ann and pray for her to intercede on our behalf for healing, strength, and patience.
Your devoted prayerful and financial support enables the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament Community to continue administering to Saint Ann’s Shrine and support our wonderful ministry and mission work across our country! It’s so amazing to see the good work that comes to fruition due to your heartfelt generosity! Please include your prayer intentions on the reply slip with your offering and we will be sure to pray for them during our 11:30pm Daily Mass. May the healing power of Good Saint Ann and her Grandson Jesus intercede for you!
Resurrection is at the heart of God’s promise of eternal life. May this Easter Season resurrect your faith and spiritual life as we praise Jesus for being our Lord and Savior, our brother, and our friend. He indeed has Risen! God Bless you in your support of Saint Ann’s Shrine and we wish you a Happy Easter! May your Easter be blessed with peace and joy!
In Jesus, our Risen Lord,
